A Team According To God's Heart

In this month's "The God Who Speaks" newsletter, the listening prayer question that Brad Jersak has given us was: "Lord, would you show me what people and events you are stringing together in my life? How have you already been doing that? Open my eyes so that I might flow with you."

Last week when I was sharing with a sister, we found out that we have the same mission statement. We were so excited to know about that. We shared about our passion and dreams. We realized why God has been leading us to minister together. And we also began to think about the possibility to work and serve together in the future.

This year I have been thinking about who are the people that God wants me to walk closely with in the coming days? I've tried to see more of my relationships with others, and wanted to know more about God's will and purposes in our lives.

These few days I was reading "52 Teachings for the G12 Meetings" (by Cesar Castellanos D), one of the chapters talks about "A Team According To God's Heart". It says: "Choosing one of the twelve is as important as choosing your spouse. It requires effort and time to get to know them and share together until having the total certainty that they are the indicated person. When the Lord chose His twelve, He did it thinking that they would be with Him forever." This made me think about who are the people that I "will be with forever"?

Even though now our new cell group is still like a little baby, so we are quite far away from the day of choosing the twelve. But for any G12 cell group leader, he or she will eventually become the leader of his or her team of twelve, and also part of another team of twelve, the upper level cell group. It means that he or she will have these 24 people to walk with forever! So who are these 24 people that God has been linking to our lives? Who are the ones that God wants us to be with and love forever?

Maybe everyone of us has different passion, dreams, gifting and anointing... but as long as we have the same ultimate goal: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind', and, 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'" (Luke 10:27), God can string our lives together for His purpose.
