Praise God for this new season! I am excited about what He is going to lead us to do in these coming months.
Last fall I've started two new ministry groups with some brothers and sisters, one is a prayer group, another one is a writers' group for a Christian organization. Both of the groups were going well in the past several months. But during the summer, some questions were raised by the group members, and thus made us wanted to stop for a while and seek God for clear directions.
After waiting for the Lord for a few weeks, I believe that He has already renewed my strength and restored my peace to move on again.
For the writers' group, there are many things to do and learn in these next few months, and some are the things that I have never done before. But I just trust in the Lord for His provision for every area of our needs.
There was a new surprise from the Lord for the prayer group. He brought another sister into our group, and we decided to start a new cell group together next month! I was really surprised and amazed by His plan, it is even better than we expected. Wow... Lord, just like how Mary answered to the angel who suddenly came and told her about giving birth to a son: "I am the Lord's servant... May it be to me as you have said." (Luke 1:38)
It was interesting that most of the things that I've been reading in my devotion these last few weeks seem to speak to me about continuing to develop these two groups. One of the stories that I've been reading is how God used Zerubbabel to rebuild the temple. It encouraged me that even though sometimes we think that we are not good enough or might not be able to do His works, but God says that He is able. "'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the LORD of hosts. 'Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"' (Zech 4:6-7)
"You are awesome in this place, Mighty God. You are awesome in this place, Abba Father. You are worthy of all praise. To You our lives we raise. You are awesome in this place, Mighty God" (Awesome In This Place, by Dave Billington)
Last night at the prayer meeting, I was so overwhelmed by the awesomeness of God. And my heart was filled with gratitude for His goodness.
"I stand, I stand, in awe of you. I stand, I stand in awe of you. Holy God, to whom all praise is due, I stand In awe of you." (I Stand In Awe, by Mark Altrogge)
Building the house of the Lord is just a preparation for His presence and glory to come. "'The glory of this present house will be greater than the glory of the former house,' says the LORD Almighty. 'And in this place I will grant peace,' declares the LORD Almighty." (Hag 2:9) Praise God for His great promises!
"Be glorified, be glorified. Be glorified in the Heavens, be glorified in the earth, be glorified in this temple. Jesus, Jesus, be thou glorified." (Be Glorified)
